Prayers:
God's timing is perfect. It's slow but it's perfect. I pray for those people that are struggling with God's timing. I pray for those people that are crumbling in spirit while they wait for a break from the pressure, and I pray that God will bring them relief soon. I pray for those friends of mine who have recently lost their jobs. I pray that they will not be anxious, but will trust in God's timing. I pray that they will have hope for their future, and they will be blessed with a calming peace that will hold them over until God blesses them in their next venture. In my own life, I pray for God's favor in my dreams. God gives us our dreams, and follows through with those dreams when we acknowledge them and act on them. My current job is a dream inseminated by God and brought to fruition by God. I first applied to work for Disney two years ago, and God brought me here, but only according to his timing. So I pray that God will bring my deepest ministry desires to reality, and while I wait, I pray that I do not waste God's valuable time, but rather use that time to grow spiritually and relationally.

Counting my blessings:
It really is a blessing that I have this time to grow and learn about God while I wait for my dreams to come true. If you would have told me 5 years ago that my dreams would've changed so drastically in this direction, I would have slapped you in the face and called you crazy, but God has a way of changing our hearts according to His will. I see the world differently now; my values have changed. The fact of the matter is that I'm thankful God has changed my heart and given me dreams, so His purpose for my life will be fulfilled.

Lessons in faith:
Going along with the theme for today: God's Timing - I pulled this out of Rick Warren's devotional from a while back because I'm obsessed with his knowledge.

  • Noah waited 120 years from the time he started building the ark until it began to rain.
  • Abraham was told he would be the father of a great nation and didn't have a child until he was ninety-nine.
  • God told Moses he would be the leader to lead his people out of four hundred years of slavery, but then made him wait in the desert forty years.
  • Joseph spent years in prison before God raised him up and he became the ruler God wanted him to be.
  • God had David anointed as king, but then David waited for years until he actually got to be king.
We all have to go through these waiting periods. Even Jesus waited for thirty years in the carpenter's shop before setting out on his public ministry. Why do we wait? It teaches us to trust in God. We learn that his timing is perfect. One of the facts we have to learn is this: God's delay never destroys his purpose.
